American drug dealer “Dom” arrested on Phangan — police seize evidence worth over 13 million baht

Thai police carried out a large-scale operation on Koh Phangan, dismantling a major international drug trafficking network. During the raid, a key dealer was arrested — 34-year-old US citizen Gerard Dominic (in Thai police reports his name appears as “Dom,” from the English diminutive Dom or a shortening of his surname).

Officers tracked down the suspect after arresting other members of the network from Brazil and Israel. Searching a rented house on Haad Yao beach, police found a specially fitted hiding spot in the armrest of a sofa, where cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy, MDMA and mephedrone were stashed. The total street value of the seized haul exceeded 13 million baht.

According to investigators, the American had been living on the island for about seven years, selling illicit substances at local parties. The suspect is now in custody and has been charged with possession and distribution of narcotics.
