About the place
Koh Phangan's main government hospital (โรงพยาบาลเกาะพะงัน) with a 24-hour emergency room, outpatient clinic, X-ray, laboratory and inpatient wards. It is the primary public facility for road-accident injuries, rabies post-exposure vaccinations and tetanus shots.
Fees follow Thai public hospital rates and are substantially lower than at private clinics. Serious cases are stabilised here and transferred to Samui or the mainland.
Getting there
On the main road north from Thong Sala (Route 3073 / 4131) by the Wok Tum traffic lights, 4 km from Thong Sala Pier. On-site parking is right outside the emergency and outpatient entrances.

- The Emergency Room is open 24/7; general outpatient consultations run on weekday mornings
- Bring your passport and travel insurance details for registration
- Keep all original receipts and the doctor's Medical Certificate if you plan to claim reimbursement from your insurer
