The tide here
At low tide it is shallow and stony by the shore, so there is no proper swim. At high tide the strip of sand narrows and the water reaches the tree roots. Swim at mid to high water.
About the beach
A cove of about 800 m at the island's southern tip, a 5–10 minute walk from Haad Rin village, with a cliff at the north end and a forested hill to the south. It is sometimes confused with Haad Rin Nai (Sunset Beach), but it is a separate beach, south of the village.
Resorts line the shore: Cocohut, Sarikantang, The Cabin, Lighthouse Bungalows; the sunbeds, hammocks and swings are theirs, and a jetty runs out into the sea. It is quiet, mostly resort guests: where people go to get away from Haad Rin's crowds. It faces south-west, towards Samui; from the end of the beach a wooden walkway leads to the cape with a small lighthouse.
Getting there
About 12 km from Thong Sala pier by the same steep hill road as to Haad Rin; a 5–10 minute walk from the village. There is no public entrance: you reach the beach through the resorts or down a steep path.

- At low tide the bottom has sharp stones and pebbles: water shoes help
- The sea here is calmest and clearest from October to March
