About the place
A waterfall in the middle of the island, by the headquarters of Than Sadet–Koh Phangan National Park. Not one wall of water but a staircase of small cascades along a jungle stream. The trail beside them is wooden steps, roots and ropes. From the foot it is about fifteen minutes up to the Domsila viewpoint, with a view over the island and Samui.
The rains decide how much water there is: after the wet season the cascades are full, in the dry months they can be very modest.
Getting there
About 5 km from Thong Sala pier, 10–15 minutes by scooter: take the Chaloklum road, then follow the sign to the park. There is a small car park at the entrance.
Good to know
- Park entry is 100 baht for foreigners, 50 for children, cash; open roughly 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
- Wear shoes with a good grip: the trail is steep and slippery after rain
- Leave time for Domsila before closing: the way up and down is over roots
