About the place
A temple on a hill above Ban Tai, looking over the south coast to Samui; people come up for the sunset too. It is known as a place of meditation: for many years it ran ten-day vipassana courses for foreigners. The centre's website no longer works, and we could not confirm whether the courses still run.
During a course parts of the grounds are closed to visitors, and quiet is asked for everywhere.
Getting there
About 4 km from Thong Sala pier: take the road to Ban Tai and Haad Rin, then follow the sign up a narrow road to a car park. From there it is a few minutes' walk uphill.

- Entry is free, donations are welcome
- Ask about meditation courses at the temple itself
