Coco Loco on Haad Yao Beach after the fire: what happened and when the team plans to reopen

Beachfront restaurant Coco Loco on Haad Yao Beach is currently cordoned off with green construction mesh and a temporary closure notice. We visited the site to see the condition of the venue.

People on site say the fire started in an electrical panel and spread under the roof, gutting almost the entire interior dining hall and charring the roof structure.

The blue Buddha mural along the terrace wall survived the flames, with its right edge darkened by smoke from the main hall.

The owner is keeping spirits high and actively leading the restoration work — cleanup is already underway inside the hall, with plans to finish repairs and reopen in December.
