PACS needs help: rainy season, fewer volunteers, and plenty of work — dogs need walks, towels, and donations
PhaNgan Animal Care for Strays (PACS) is a non-profit veterinary clinic in Wok Tum that has been providing free care for Koh Phangan's stray animals since 2001. They treat injured dogs and cats, including road accident victims, and provide vaccinations and sterilization. The clinic receives no government funding and relies on donations.
Things are especially tough right now: fewer tourists mean fewer volunteers and donations. The constant rain brings endless laundry, while animals injured on the roads keep coming in.
“The rain doesn't stop, and neither do we,” PACS writes.
How to help: come walk the dogs (weekdays at 9:30 AM or 3:30 PM), drop off old towels, or make a donation.
